A Hotel to Come Home to

Featured in Russian Glossy Residence (MIR & DOM)

A Russian Journalist living in The Hague asked me if she could take photos and write an article for a Russian glossy magazine about Haagsche Suites. “Be my guests” I said to her. Although she faithfully offered to show me the photos she took and also offered me to help me with my then steep learning curve in mastering Adobe Photoshop, I lost her contact details and forgot about it. Until one day the glossy landed on the doormat of Haagsche Suites. It is called Residence, is issued by Mir and Dom, and dated from August 2008. My only problem is I don’t read Russian. Do you? If you do, you can read the article here.

I really liked the photography which was totally different from what I had seen before. I hope she reads this once and we can re establish our contact.

One of our happy Guests blogged about his Honeymoon and the brunch of the next day

One of our happy guests blogged about his honeymoon spent at Haagsche Suites:

On Sunday, May 11th, the festivities were closed with a brunch for some family members and close friends in “hotel” Hague Suites where we had spent our honeymoon.

Our stay and the hospitality we enjoyed were really fantastic.

The brunch was great and well cared for and nothing failed us.

Haagsche Suites is highly recommended for those who want something different.

The slogan of the owner is not without reason: “You will enjoy!”

We would like to thank Guido en Irene van den Elshout again for an extraordinary stay.

A real Find and a Wonderful treat

Our Guest Cristel from the UK wrote our first Tripadvisor review on October 27, 2005:

This is a gem of a place where an old 19th century town house has been exquisitely decorated by the owners and made into 3 suites (one on each floor) adjoining their own home. Although each suite has its own well equipped and provisioned kitchen which includes espresso maker, multifunction oven, hob as well as complementary drinks, fruit and chocolate; breakfast is included and served either in high style in the living part of your suite or downstairs in the elegant dining area over looking the peaceful garden. There is a back entrance so parking is secure and it is SO quiet unlike hotels in the center of town where the bin men and street noise wakes you up.

Our hosts were happy to book a restaurant for us and drop us there via a mini tour of the harbor area and we returned home to find petit fours and a chilled bottle of champagne awaiting us.

The suites are all in different styles and one is definitely ‘bridal’. The bathrooms are all finished to a high standard and there are plenty of Moulton Brown toiletries as well as candles to relax with.

At 425 euros a night this is definitely one for a luxury treat but if you compare it with the service and similarly priced executive rooms at a recently updated local 5* hotel there is no competition. Spoil yourself and you will not be disappointed.

Stayed October 2005

In those days Tripadvisor was still in its infancy and as a consequence of this review we were many months number 1 of their ranking because there weren’t many reviews yet of hotels in The Hague

First Couple that tested a Haagsche Suites Bridal Suite

Just to commemorate the first couple that used one of the 3 bridal suites of Haagsche Suites, long before the opening in October 2002. He from Egypt and she from the Netherlands.
